5 Little Things You Can Do To Beautify Your Bedroom

Your bedroom is an area that most of your guests would actually never see but it still deserves a lot of attention. It is a room that must be a personal gateway to express your feelings, colours & collections. Beautify it with these five little tricks.

Select Right Size Furniture

The furniture you select and buy for your bedroom must fit in well and offer the much needed empty space that’s needed for easy movement. Don’t go for large, heavy bed & a dresser if you have a small size bedroom. If your ceiling is high, go for a tall headboard as that would bring it down to its size. Accessories and furniture that are small would look lost in a big bedroom.

Keep Your Room Simple

Make your bedroom look simple, cosy, elegant and sophisticated irrespective of what style of decoration you select. To have an easy movement, place the furniture tactfully. Only have furniture and fittings that are needed in a bedroom. A bedside table, a dresser, a chair and a bed are the necessities. Accessories must be kept as much less as possible.

Go For Luxurious Linens

Outfit your room with luxurious and beautiful fabrics. There is nothing that adds comfort to the bedroom like wonderful linens. Go for sheets & pillows that are 100% cotton. Send them to a dry cleaner for washing & pressing after you use them. Cover your walls with textured wall coverings, add lavish floor coverings and hang silk bed canopy or silk draperies.

Choose Subtle Colours

Rather than opting for bold primary colours, go for soothing shades & monochromatic tones. Keep one thing in mind: gentle hues of lavender, blue or green are serene and calm whereas rich-jewelled tones like deep pomegranate, toasty browns or topaz help to set the mood of comfort and cosiness. Always use toned-down versions of these colours in your bedroom.

Don’t Overlook Your Ceiling

Ceiling is considered to be the 5th wall in your room. Paint it with a bit lighter of your wall colour. This would make the ceiling appear visually low and give your room a feeling of intimacy and comfort. If you want, you can also wallpaper or stencil your ceiling, use decorative paint or just add architectural elements in form of mouldings and beams. For ultimate luxury, you can add delicate shades or moulded medallion & chandelier to bring pattern, colour & texture to your fifth wall.

So, if you want to beautify your bedroom these are the five little things that you need to do - choose subtle colours, go for luxurious linens, select right size furniture, keep your room simple and don’t overlook your ceiling. Try them out and you’ll see a beautiful room in your home.
